I am an artist living in the south-east of England, originally from Scotland. I am interested in exploring the relationship between place, person, memory, loss. My work, as a starting point, emanates from points in time where people or places (or both) are momentarily caught ‘out of time’. I am drawn to capturing those ‘still’ moments of contemplation sometimes to be witnessed in others, particularly in children, moments you think might stay with them somehow into adulthood, and that might, perhaps, help to form and define who they become as people….
I have been heavily influenced by the island landscapes and atmospheres of my mother’s Hebridean island of origin, Tiree.
